DESTINATIONS

Untamed Botswana

From top-deck cocktails to elephant walks to biking through the bush.

Pachyderm Party

Follow in the enormous footsteps of Morula and Jabu — two rescued elephants at the Living With Elephants Foundation. You’ll get up close and personal with the pair, and take a walk with them through their home in the Okavango Delta, allowing them to be your “tour guides.” As part of its regular activities, the foundation hosts groups of local children for two-day elephant workshops.

Riverboat Safari

Glide through Chobe National Park aboard a private houseboat, sharing the current with hippos, crocs, zebra, lions and other animals. The ten-day journey also includes seven nights in tented camps,
and game viewing from a 4×4 and in mokoros, traditional dugout canoes. On Impalila Island, the farthest eastern reach of Namibia, climb a huge baobab tree for views of the meeting point of Botswana, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

Wild Riding

Catch the veld breezes on an 11-day cycling-focused safari that starts on Cape Town’s Table Mountain. In Botswana’s Mashatu Game Reserve, pedal along elephant paths to spot giraffes, cheetahs, ostriches and eland, Africa’s largest antelope. Spend two pampered nights at a five-star luxury retreat perfect for adventures on the forested peaks of the Great Escarpment.
