Himalayan Pursuits

Medieval towns are living galleries, and Everest is closer than you think.

Chop to the Top
Jump Nepal’s peaks by helicopter, stopping at base camps usually reserved for mountaineering’s strongest souls. Ascend to the dizzying 17,400-foot base camp shared by Everest and Lhotse, where you’ll have views of four of the world’s six tallest mountains. When not flying, sip butter tea in cozy mountain lodges spot rare wildlife; such as the one-horned rhino and Bengal tiger; and spend three days in Kathmandu exploring sacred Buddhist and Hindu landmarks.
Mountain Museums
Greet the ten-armed goddess at the center of Golden Gate, the resplendent doorway at the heart of Bhaktapur. Though badly damaged by an earthquake in 2015, the town is still a stunning showcase for the artwork of the Newari people. Your stay in Nepal follows 12 days exploring Tibet. Some departures of this tour are accompanied by Peter Hillary, son of Sir Edmund Hillary. The trip also stops at Everest’s legendary north-facing base camp.
Elite Hiking
The peak of Everest is reached only by a select few, but serious hikers who can contend with the mountain’s midsection may join a 15-day trek up to the Everest base camp. Stay at a guesthouse adjacent to the Thyangboche Monastery, and another at Kala Pathar (18,200 feet). The trip is bookended with relaxing days in the lively town of Namche Bazaar.

 An abundance of cultural treasures

Traveling across Europe opens your eyes to a world of unparalleled culture and history. It often seems impossible to choose between the Renaissance art of Florence and the Impressionist paintings of Paris; Germany’s Bavarian castles and the bustling multicultural London streets. The wealth of knowledge acquired in Europe is an asset of a lifetime – its only rivals being the people and food you’ll encounter along the way! Close proximity of individual countries makes it easy to incorporate any number of them into your trip, while each country is more than worthy of a focused, extended stay as you immerse yourself in the culture and communities.

The Possibilities Are Endless

Set to a backdrop of an impressive variety of landscapes, from lush tropical rainforests to the breath-taking Rocky Mountain range, North America offers a unique adventure for every traveler. Take a road trip along the Pacific Coast highway, zip-line through Canada’s temperate rainforests, or journey through Mexico’s Copper Canyon by train. The endless opportunities of the land will leave you wanting to discover more.
